| Mango Lassi |
Mango lassi is one of the best summer refreshing drinks made from ripe mangoes and yoghurt (curd/dahi). It is a ready-made drink loved by people of all generations all over the world, making it an ideal healthy snack or juice drink. You can use different types of mangoes to make mango smoothies. Each type of mango has its own aroma and taste. Making this fresh drink at home is very easy and does not require much time or cooking knowledge. Blend mango pulp (or mango pieces), curd, sugar, cardamom powder and water until the lassi is ready in a few minutes.
Ingredients:
1 cup chopped mango (about 1 medium mango) or 3/4 cup mango puree
1 cup curd/plain yogurt (Dahi)
1/4 cup water or milk
A pinch of cardamom powder
1½ tablespoons (or as needed) sugar
1 tablespoon chopped nuts, for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Step 1
Choose ripe mangoes. Peel the mango, cut it in half, remove the pit and cut it into small pieces. Eat yogurt, not sour milk.
Step 2
In a saucepan, add 1 cup chopped mango (or 3/4 cup mango puree), 1 cup yogurt (curd/dahi) and 1/4 cup water.
Step 3
Blend until smooth and creamy, with no remaining pieces of fruit. Add 1½ tablespoons of sugar and a pinch of cardamom powder. Check the thickness of the smoothie and add more water if needed.
Step 4
Blend for a minute. Pour into a glass and garnish with chopped dry fruits.
Serving Tip: Serve the Fruit Smoothie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and small mango pieces.
